Glenisk sponsor new music programme

posted Sep 17, 2019, 2:19 PM by Owen Breslin
This year we are thrilled to be embarking on a new music program in Killeigh N.S. We will have music teachers from Music Generation Offaly that will come each week to our school.

We are extremely fortunate that we have received funding towards our music programme from Glenisk which means we can significantly reduce the cost of music lessons for all the children in our school. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Glenisk for this wonderful opportunity.

Junior Infants – 3rd Class will participate in Kodály. This is a fun filled introductory musicianship and singing programme. This will start in November. We will collect money for this after Midterm Break.

  • Junior / Senior Infants - €5 for the year
  •  1st, 2nd, 3rd Class - €8 for the year
1st – 3rd Class will also participate in Singfest towards the end of the school year. 4th Class will participate in Peace Proms in February this year.
They will also take part in weekly tin whistle lessons and will have the opportunity to learn the flute.

5th and 6th Class – Guitar Lessons
Beginning on Monday 16th September. The children will receive guitar lessons for 30 minutes each week for the year.
Cost:
  • It will cost €15 for 30 lessons if you are using your own guitar
  • It will cost €20 for 30 lessons if you are using a guitar supplied by the school

This is fantastic value and the children and teachers are very excited about this. This fee can be paid in full or in installments (3 x €5 or 4 x €5), either to the class teacher or via our online payment system. We would ask that all fees would be paid before 25/10/2019.
