As part of Seachtain na Gaeilge 2019, 5th class used book creator to make their own version of "The Three Billy Goats Gruff". We had great fun translating the story and acting it out. Unfortunately something seems to have happened to the end of it but we attach a link here  that will give a flavour of what we got up to. We had a fantastic time and cant wait to use book creator whenever we get our new chromebooks.

The aim is to expose students to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fundamentals within the context of building a robot using Vex IQ.

Students can jump right in and snap robots together using this intuitive toolless system

Collaboration, discussion and teamwork skills are in evidence from the outset.

Programming some code for their robot - the software has a great

introductory drag and drop graphical interface as well as standard text coding for more experienced users.

The students will compete against 15 other schools from Offaly in the Vex Iq Offaly championships on the 16th of May 2019 and against teams from throughout Ireland in 2020 and 2021.

Scratch is a block-based visual programming language that is a good starting point for students to learn the basic concepts of computer programming. Students will learn to make animations and games in Scratch.

Students will learn how they can use programming concepts to make physical robots do activities. Students will write code to instruct robots using devices like the Microbit &  Sphero.

HTML is the standard markup language for creating web pages and web applications. Students will learn how to use HTML to build and customize websites on topics that they might be interested in.
