Digital visit of an engineer

posted Mar 3, 2021, 6:54 AM by Owen Breslin
Its Engineers week and who better to talk to the pupils about the world of Engineering than an actual engineer. Past pupil Ciarán Ó hÁoláin took time out this week to talk to both 6th classes on Mon last and today it was the turn of  4th and 5th class.

Connecting virtually via the Zoom platform, Ciarán spoke about how he became an engineer and about the world of engineering in general.
He spoke about how different technologies and practises have evolved over the years and about ho engineers work to develop new solutions and improve existing products.

Ciarán then spoke to the boys and girls about 3d printing and about he can create new products by using 3d printing. It is fair to say that this was a very popular segment and there were many questions about 3d printing.

We are very grateful to Ciarán for taking time out to talk to us. The boys and girls had a great time and really gained a great insight into the world of engineering.
