FUTSAL

Thanks a million to Gary Seery from FAI who held very enjoyable FUTSAL in the yard sessions today for classes from 2nd to 6th classes. The boys and girls had a ball where they learned new soccer skills playing in small sided games that saw everyone getting involved. Gary also kindly left us with some new footballs to add to our collection.

GPO GAA Coaching

A much loved visitor to our school is GPO Eimear Carroll, who is working with our young pupils, helping them to develop their fundamental movement skills and hurling and gaelic football skills. A native of Ballycumber, Eimear has made a huge impression on our pupils and they are having great fun while learning and developing new skills. We are very grateful to Na Fianna Minor Hurling,  StSinchills Camogie , Na Fianna Minor Football  Na Fianna Lgfa and  Leinster GAA for providing this support. Thanks also to the team at Offaly Coaching and games who Eimear works under. Eimear is pictured with Mr White and Mr Breslin and pupils wearing jerseys from all 4 clubs as well as the school jersey.

Peace Proms

Our 4th class pupils put a huge amount of work into practicing their singing and dance moves for this year's Peace Proms concert. Last Sat was the big day and an excited group left Killeigh early that morning. After a rehearsal and a quick break, it was showtime. The Peace Proms choir gives the children a chance to sing a selection of much loved classics in front of a large audience. They are accompanied by the cross border orchestra and it is a wonderful day of music, song and dance. Well done to the boys and girls who performed so well on the day. Massive thanks to our teachers and SNAs who gave up their Saturday to travel on the day and who worked so hard with the boys and girls preparing for the big day.

VEX Robotics

Congratulations to our VEX robotics team who had a very successful day at today's Midlands Full Volume VEX robotics competition in Mucklagh. The boys and girls have put huge work into designing, building, driving and coding their robot. Thankfully they had a clean run free of any technical hitches and thanks to some excellent performances they won the skills competition, the teamwork challenge with St Brendan's Birr and a wonderful day was capped off in fine style when they won the Excellence award. Thanks a million to Ray Bell, Dean Hodge and everyone in Offaly Co Co and MTU for running such a fantastic event. Thanks also to Mr Breslin and Mr Phelan for their hard work with the team. The boys and girls now travel to MTU in Cork for the All Ireland competition. Click here or on the photo for more pictures,
