Pupils in Mr Breslin's 6th class have been very busy learning how to program a virtual robot using the VEX VR environment.

A replacement for the annual  VEX IQ Robot competitions, VEX VR is a block based coding environment that looks somewhat similar to scratch.

Pupils learned how to program the virtual robot to move, turn, put pen down (to draw). They also learned how to use loops and variables to  simplify implementation of long streams of code.

A number of pupils entered the national VEX VR Robot art competition hosted by Munster Technological University (MTU) and Offaly County Council.

The following are samples of the entries.
