Pupils from 3rd class up to 6th class attended an online zoom talk last week for engineers week. Cathal Martin, Grid Manager with SSE Renewables gave the children a presentation about renewable energy and in particular he focused on wind energy. 

Cathal has been doing a lot of work on offshore wind energy and this particularly interested the children. He spoke of the many different challenges that building wind farms in the sea posed for engineers. He was very impressed with the quantity and quality of the questions posed by the children present and with their ideas about how some of the problems may be solved. We are very grateful to Cathal for sharing his expertise and time with us and for putting so much thought into the session and making it so interactive for the children.
