Coaching

Pupils from Scoil Shinchill enjoy a wide variety of coaching activity in school throughout their time in Scoil Shinchill. This includes the following

GAA - Games Promotion Office (GPO) Eimear Carroll visits the school every week and works on fundamental movement skills and hurling and gaelic football skills. We are very grateful to Na Fianna Hurling, St Sinchills Camogie, Na Fianna Football and Na Fianna LGFA for their support of this initiative. 

Tag Rugby - John Burns from Tullamore Rugby Club visits the school every year to do a block of 6 weeks Tag Rugby with pupils from 3rd to 6th classes. 

Athletics - Offaly Sports Partnership have been very supportive of our school and have provided coaching for our young athletes with programmes such as the Fast Feet programme. 

Zumba - Dorinda Cuskelly comes at the end of every school year and does a block of Zumba dancing with our young pupils. They absolutely love it. 

Swimming- Pupils from 3rd class to 5th class inclusive do a 6 week block of swimming lessons every year in Aura Tullamore. 

Soccer/Futsal - FAI coach Gary Seery visits the school every year and delivers some modules on FUTSAL in the school yard. 

School teams

Every year we have teams that take part in the following

• Offaly Cuman na mBunscoil competitions in football, hurling and camogie.  

• SPAR FAI 5 a side soccer tournament every year. 

• Offaly Cross Country Running

• Colin Dunne Athletics

• Offaly Sports Partnership Athletics competitions
