Book Collection Scoil Shinchill, Killeigh

The teachers in each class have bagged and organised all the children’s books over the last few days. We are allocating specific collection times and designated entrances for each class. It is important that you only come at the time allocated to you. To ensure your safety and to comply with government regulations, you will need to read and follow our instructions very carefully so we can try our best to ensure that the collection is done safely.

Step 1: Organising a Time Slot

Your day and time is included on this email below and will also be text to you today. If you have more than one child in the school, you will only come at the time allocated to the OLDEST child and all your children's books can be collected in the same collection point. All books/ materials will be in a plastic bag and will be collected through the window of your oldest child's classroom. If this time does not suit you, please email me and I will make alternative arrangements for you. sandra.sheeran@scoilshinchill.com

Step 2: Arriving at School

Whether you are travelling to school on foot, by car or otherwise, it is important to ensure you follow these directions in order to reduce risk and comply with government regulations.

1.    Only arrive at the school at your designated time. Remain in your car and only come to the classroom window when it is clear to do so.

2.    Where possible, please come to the school alone. If this is not possible, please leave children in the car. (If on foot, your child must stay with you at all times.)

3.    Parking Arrangements

·         Please park at the front of the school and Main School Entrance: If you are collecting books from Ms. Kelly (Senior Inf), Ms. Corcoran (1st Class), Ms. Regan (Junior Inf), Ms. Boland (Senior Inf), Ms. Dermody (3rd Class) or Ms. Molloy (4th Class),

·         Please park at the front of the school and use the second school gate and path (beside the Big Tree: If you are collecting books from Mr Breslin (5th Class), Ms. Phelan (1st/2nd Class), Ms. A. Molloy (2nd Class),

·         Please drive through the staff car park and into the playground if you are collecting from Ms. McElduff or Ms. Screeney. They will have multiple bags if you have a few children in the school and the books will be heavy.

There will be staff around the site to help with movement but please make sure that you uphold social distancing rules. Please do not approach staff unless you require help with movement (and please don’t be offended as we are simply trying to keep us all safe!)

We understand this is a difficult time for everyone and we appreciate that this experience is not exactly how we would love to be able to do things. Unfortunately, we have to reduce the risk of physical contact so it is likely you may not speak to anyone while you are here. It’s taken immense effort to try and safely coordinate pupils’ resources for collection in less than 3 days. Hopefully, things will begin to get back to normal and we’ll soon be able to see each other again.

Is mise le meas,

Sandra Sheeran
