Christmas Concerts

Post date: Dec 22, 2015 12:16:44 PM

We recently held our annual Christmas concerts and they were a wonderful success. They were well attended and enjoyed by all . There really was wonderful talent on show throughout the school

The Infant classes performed a selection of songs to start proceedings and get everyone in good cheer.

The two first classes continued with a medley.

As is tradition in Killeigh , second class had the honour of performing the nativity play.

After a break 3rd and 4th class performed selections of songs and music.

Finally 5th and 6th classes performed a play that was written and directed by Mr White our school principal. The play titled "A Triumph of Allsorts" told the story of the 1916 Rising. So strong was the performances that on every performance it garnered a standing ovation. A huge congratulations must go to Mr White, Ms Sheeran and Ms Dermody for their work on the play.

Indeed the entire school should be very proud of what were memorable performances.

As usual with these things they simply could not go ahead without the help and support of the entire school community.  We would like to thank everyone who helped in any way.

Finally we are hoping to invest in a sound system for the school and a collection bucket was placed at the entrance to the hall for our shows and a total of €1100 was collected. Thanks to all who contributed.
