Boys football final

Post date: Oct 22, 2019 8:32:35 PM

Hard luck to our gallant boys football team who today camevup short in the final of the Offaly Cumann na mBunscoil A football competition. They had played exceptional  football in all of our previous games but today was not to be their day.

Opposition Scoil Eoin Pól, started stronger and claimed the early scores. Great work by Conor Berry in the back line and Ronan Hooper and Fionn Malone at midfield meant we managed to get some ball up front and our forwards started to run at the Tullamore boys. Cormac O'Grady got a great score to get us off the mark and he was supported up front by great work from Donncha Cooney and Cian Multaney Kelly.

Although we trailed at half time, we were still full of hope and we tried everything to get back into it. On the day though the Tullamore boys were a bit stronger and ran out winners.

Heartiest congratulations to Scoil Eoin Pól who were deserving winners.

Thanks to the Cumann na mbunscoil for all their work organising the competition and the finals day. Thanks also to the boys for working so hard training for the last 7 weeks. A very special thanks goes to all our support on the day. There was a huge crowd of parents, teachers and ex pupils there to cheer the lads on and we are very grateful to you all.

Finally thanks to Ms Molloy, Mr Breslin, Roisin and Paula for training the team.
