Post date: Feb 26, 2021 4:32:15 PM

Dear Parents,

I hope you are keeping well. As you are aware, The Department of Education announced the phased return of children to schools, which will begin next Monday, March 1st, for pupils from Junior Infants to 2nd Class. The pupils in 3rd - 6th Class will continue to work remotely, as per government guidelines and will return on March 15th. Please note that children who are due to return to school on Monday 1st March will no longer be facilitated with remote teaching and learning if they do not return to school, unless the have  previously been categorised in the very high risk category

We will be forwarding more information in the coming days and parents will be required to familiarise themselves with the latest health and safety guidelines regarding Covid 19. Our school's Updated Covid Response Plan is available on our school website here. All drop off and collection times and procedures that were in place before Christmas will resume next week. It is extremely important that all guidelines are adhered to and that there is absolutely no congregating of adults outside the school gates in the morning/evening. Children displaying any symptom of Covid 19 MUST not attend school and we will be calling parents to collect any child that is unwell. Please do not send your child to school if a family member is displaying signs or symptoms of Covid. If in doubt, we encourage you all to seek medical advice as we need to be cautious in order to stop the spread of the virus. The safety of the whole school community is everyone's responsibility and we all need to be vigilant in implementing current health and safety advice.

Parents will be requested to submit a Return to School Declaration for each child when they are returning to school. This declaration will be available on the Aladdin Connect App in the coming days.

The school lunch service will be operation form Monday 1st for those wishing to avail of the service.

If you have any queries you can email me at sandra.sheeran@scoilshinchill.com or call the school, 0579344349, as we are currently back in school.

Looking forward to seeing all your children back in school in the coming weeks.

Kind regards,

Sandra Sheeran
