Pupils returning to school after the summer break were greeted with a very special surprise. A climbing wall has been installed over the summer with some grant funding and there was great excitement amongst the children as they tried it out for the first time.
It was a very emotional end to the year in Scoil Shinchill. As well as saying goodbye to our wonderful 6th class pupils, we also said goodbye to our wonderful SNA Gemma Hyland and school principal Damian White. Thanks a million to everyone who helped us with the celebration of Damians time in Killeigh. It was fabulous seeing everyone get together on Tuesday evening and on Wednesday morning. We wish our 6th class pupils, Gemma and Damian the very best for the future.
We bid farewell to our 40 wonderful 6th Class Pupils.
The entire school formed a guard of honour to see them off as they walked out of Killeigh N.S for the final time. This years class have left a lasting impression on the school and they will be truly missed. We have to commend their happy, friendly, positive attitude and we have many special memories with them throughout the years. They are an extremely talented bunch and have given so much to Killeigh N.S during their time here.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish the class of 2024 the very best of luck in their new adventure.
Today we said farewell to a much loved member of staff. Gemma Hyland joined Scoil Shinchill 21 years ago and retires today. We wish her a happy and healthy retirement. She will be greatly missed by us all here in Scoil Shinchill.
Final rehearsals are taking place today with a full performance for the whole school. We can't wait to see everyone tonight and tomorrow evening for our school show A Century of Killeigh. Show starts at 7pm. Admission is free but a donation bucket will be there with any proceeds going to show production costs and school funds.
