Pupils from 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th class travelled to Daingean today to participate in the regional Offaly Sports Partnership Athletics. Taking part in 60m sprint, middle distance running (200m/300m), ball throw and 4 x 100m relay, the Killeigh pupils performed fantastically. A number of pupils have qualified to travel and compete in the county final in a couple of weeks time. Thanks to Liam Reilly and his team in the Offaly Sports partnership for hosting.
We are very grateful to Garda Fergus Collins who spent the day teaching senior classes on Internet Safety, Cybersecurity and Social Media dangers. It is a very tricky area for our young pupils and it was wonderful to get Garda Collins input on this.
Congratulations to our girls 5 a side soccer team who today were crowned Offaly county champions. They progress on to the Leinster regional finals in Portlaoise in a couple of weeks time. Well done girls and thanks to coaches Ms Quinn and Ms Gleeson for all their hard work.

As part of Engineers week every year we invite engineers to visit the school and describe their work to the children. This year we were incredibly lucky to have 2 fascinating visitors in Ian Jones from Intel and Assumpta McGowan from Sennheiser. We are incredibly grateful to both and thank them most sincerely for sharing their expertise with us. To learn more about their visit please click here
Congratulations to the boys and girls of 6th class who celebrated the sacrament of confirmation yesterday, Fri March 10th. Thanks to Bishop Denis Nulty, Fr John Stapleton, Mgr Tom Coonan, our wonderful choir and all of the teachers involved who helped make it such a special day for the boys and girls.
It was with great excitement that our soccer teams travelled to Leah Victoria Park today, 8th of March to take part in this years SPAR FAI Soccer blitz. There were two boys teams and two girls teams. Each team performed brilliantly on the day and our girls teams faced each other in the final. We are very proud of this wonderful achievement and it is a testament to the skill of both sets of players that it was just one goal that seperated them at the end. Thanks a million to our coaches Ms Quinn, Mr Mullery, Ms Gleeson and Mr Phelan for looking after the teams over the last few weeks.

Bhí ceolchoirm mór againn ar an 16 iú lá de mí Márta agus bhí na páistí go léir ag canadh, ag damhsa agus ag athrú dánta. Míle buoíachas de gach daoine. Bhí an craic ag na páístí.
