During Science Week, the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) was taking place in Glasgow. News of the discussions on Climate change reached right around the world. It also inspired the girls and boys in 6th class to undertake projects on Environmental awareness and care. They used the class chromebooks to undertake their research and they also performed some simple experiments as well. Their findings (shown below) were presented to the class.

One Million Trees Campaign

The One Million Trees Campaign organised by Self Help Africa with huge support from our friends at Glenisk aims to tackle climate change by planting trees in Ireland and in particular in Africa. Mr White brought out each class to the school garden where they planted a tree for each class. The discussed trees and the important role they can play in combatting climate change.
