Thursday 19th March - Preparing for a new season

Post date: Mar 24, 2015 10:10:34 PM

The fine weather continues and 6th class and 2nd class came together to do a spot of work in the garden. The boys and girls of 2nd class spent today tidying up all of the sticks and twigs left over after the winter and the recent visit of the tree surgeon. Meanwhile the 6th class pupils take on the preparation of the raised beds for this years growing season. We are lucky to have access to plenty of rich topsoil which has been left over after the recent construction of a new yard. The boys and girls topped off the raised beds with this new top soil while others dig or pull weeds. Finally Mr Breslin forks in some farmyard manure into the bed for the potato crop.
