Fourth class take on the egg drop challenge - Materials and Change

Ms Ryans 4th class learned all about forces recently and took on the egg drop challenge. They brainstormed ways of enabling the egg to glide or at least some way of reducing the effect of gravity on the fall of an egg. They also explored ways they could protect the egg. They looked at other ways that items are protected and found examples everywhere including car safety belts, egg boxes, flight cases for microphones, foam packing for new electronics.  After they had designed their protection system, it was time for the big drop test and the good news was that all eggs survived.
