Pupils from across Killeigh NS recently took part in fun science activities to celebrate science week. A fun week was finished off in style with a fantastic science fair which was hosted by Mr Breslins 5th class and Ms Ryans 4th class. Pupils really enjoyed showing off and explaining the wide range of experiments and demonstrations including
how pulleys can lighten the load
electromagnets
lava lamp
surface tension of milk
elephant toothpaste
how light can be bent
sound is a series of vibrations
the solar system
how balloons can support a group of children
charge a phone using a watermelon
how carbon dioxide can be made and used to blow out candles
slime
Please find a selection of the photos from the day. Unfortunately due to technical difficulties some of the pictures went missing. Apologies to anyone who does not feature here.
5th class learned how to use the same principles as a pulley to easily pull 2 broom handles together.
