Science Blast 2025
Why do our hands wrinkle when left in liquids?
Pupils in Ms Screeneys 5th class and Ms McElduffs 5th class took part in ESB Science Blast yesterday. The boys and girls had put huge work into their project for this years event. This year they attempted to find the answer to the question Why do our hands wrinkle when left in liquids? The pupils made predictions, researched the topic, conducted experiments and analysed all the results. They then put everything together into a wonderful display that they brought to the RDS.
The event itself was a super event and it hosted over 120 schools as well as a number of Science Shows and stands hosted by organisations such as ESB and Met Eireann. The boys and girls got to present their work to Louise, our judge for the day. She was very impressed with the quality of the work and gave excellent feedback to our group. We thank her for taking so much time with us and making sure that everyone who wished to contribute got to say something to her.
Thanks a million to Ciara and her team in the RDS for organising such an excellent event. Thanks to all staff members who helped out on the day and special thanks goes to Ms Screeney, Ms McElduff and Cathal for helping the boys and girls with their project. Finally, we wish to congratulate the boys and girls for both the quality of their work and also for how they conducted themselves on the day. We are very proud of you all.
