Pupils in Ms Dermodys senior infants class studied a range of materials that we find around us everyday. They learned the following new words to describe materials:

• transparent

• opaque

• hard

• soft

• squishy

They examined some cups, wooden blocks, some toys, one of the covid screens, books and some lego mats. 

They sorted them into things that were hard, soft or squishy. They then sorted them into piles of items that were transparent or opaque. They completed the activity by completing a worksheet.
